El presidente del Banco de Desarrollo de El Salvador (Bandesal), Juan Pablo Durán, confirmó que la institución podría superar la colocación de US$200 millones en préstamos este año, por la creciente demanda de financiamiento por parte del sector productivo del país.
Este monto se suma a una colocación estimada de $135 millones en garantías parciales a créditos productivos. «Nosotros garantizamos el 50 % de lo que te da otro banco y ponemos la garantía para crecer más rápido», explicó el funcionario.
“Este dinero tiene una característica especial porque va directo al torrente sanguíneo de la economía, no es lo mismo inyectar dinero para consumo, que inyectar para que se multiplique en una cadena virtuosa de más producción, empleo, tributos y exportaciones”, afirmó.
En este sentido, Durán explicó que desde su llegada a la presidencia de Bandesal trabaja por aportar a la dinamización de la economía mediante la consolidación de los negocios y un crecimiento vertical que permita que las pequeñas empresas se conviertan en medianas, las medianas en grandes, y los sectores más pequeños se fortalezcan.
Para esto, la entidad financiera ha creado canales de crédito con condiciones especiales como Banca Mujer o Banca Emprende, además de todas las líneas dedicadas a las diferentes áreas de la economía, entre ellas construcción, comercio, turismo, multidestinos y economía naranja.
Al respecto, el titular recordó que Bandesal se fondea a través de los bancos multilaterales y que actualmente mantiene convenios con el Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo (BID), Banco Centroamericano de Integración Económica (BCIE), el Banco Europeo (BE) y una alianza con el CAF- Banco de Desarrollo de Latinoamérica que fue ratificada por la Asamblea Legislativa esta semana.
Durán además se refirió al impacto económico generado por el Fideicomiso para la Recuperación Económica de las Empresas (Firempresa) como uno de los principales aciertos del Gobierno.
Afirmó que los 33,323 créditos que se otorgaron al sector productivo en los últimos 11 meses mediante este mecanismo aportaron el oxígeno financiero para que las empresas no decayeran pese al impacto de la pandemia COVID-19, lo que se materializó en las positivas métricas de recuperación económico con las que cerró el 2021.
A la fecha, $614.8 millones, de los $700 millones que fueron destinados a Firempresa ya fueron canalizados. Durán recordó que, inicialmente se fondearon $600 millones y luego se sumaron $100 millones para el subsidio por el incremento del salario mínimo.
